Costanza requires an account to keep track of your EZproxy configuration.

Creating An Account

Click the Register link to start the registration process. Name, email address, and password are all required. The *Institution Code is optional, although a random code will be generated if this field is left blank, and is used to enable sharing of EZproxy configuration files. See the section below for more details.

Note: Only the standard alphanumeric characters A-Z, a-z and 0-9 are allowed for Institution Code

Sharing EZproxy Configuration Data

Costanza uses a very simple mechanism to allow EZproxy configurations to be shared between multiple users -- all users with the same Institution Code share the same set of EZproxy files. To share EZproxy data with other users at your institution, simply have all users enter the same value in this field during registration (users can also update this field later in their profile settings).

Note: There is no security beyond the institution code itself when sharing EZproxy data. Therefore, simple institution codes, such as uofs are best avoided as they could be easily guessed by people with whom you may not want to share. Use a more complex code, or the random codes generated by Costanza.

Updating Your Settings

To edit your account settings, click your name in the upper right corner of the screen and select Settings from the menu that appears.

Your name, email address, institution code and password can all be managed in Settings.

A note about changing the institution code

Changing the institution code to a value that is unknown to Costanza will more your current EZproxy files to a new location. This will render them unavailable to any other users you are sharing with until they too update their profile with the new code.

Updating the institution code to a value that already exists (i.e. an institution code given to you by a colleague) will connect your account to the files that are associated with that new code. You will lose access to any files associated with your old code. If you wish to keep those files, it is recommended that you export your EZproxy data before updating your institution code.

Logout

To log out of Costanza, click your name in the upper right corner of the screen and select Logout from the menu that appears.
