First of all, you should prepare the development environment. I may suggest you the following:

And proceed with further instructions.

Once the environment is installed, you're ready to start developing your first WP Spock theme.

In order to start to develop a WP Spock theme, you must have a copy of WordPress files. You can download the last WordPress release from wordpress.org.

Next, you need to download the WP Scotty boilerplate theme starter kit inside wp-content/theme/ folder. You can use either git command line or Github for Mac application.

$ cd wp-content/themes
$ git clone -b master https://github.com/wpspock/WPScotty.git <your theme folder>

Next, from inside your plugin folder try to run:

$ php spock

and you should see

 __    __  ___   __                  _
/ / /\ \ \/ _ \ / _\_ __   ___   ___| | __
\ \/  \/ / /_)/ \ \| '_ \ / _ \ / __| |/ /
 \  /\  / ___/  _\ \ |_) | (_) | (__|   <
  \/  \/\/      \__/ .__/ \___/ \___|_|\_\
                   |_|
