The Tactile Paving Navigation Assistant System is an AI-powered solution designed to enhance mobility for visually impaired individuals by combining real-time video analysis with voice-guided navigation. All data is processed locally, prioritizing privacy and offline usability.
This project attempts to create a system which would bring in added ease to the visually impaired, through our nagivation, obstacle-detection, obstacle distance identification and speech-driven system to seamlessly integrate applications like Ola, Uber, etc. This was built during the PW-Hacks Jan-2023.
The AI Navigation Assistant helps visually impaired users by offering real-time navigation guidance through object detection and audio feedback. An Android app streams camera frames to a server running a generalized object detection model, which processes the frames and sends back voice-guided instructions via an AI assistant.
Powered by Gemini 3 Pro, Accessibility Narrator converts visual data into real-time audio guidance, empowering visually impaired users with the freedom of independent navigation.
