GCP IPI: Private Networking and DNS Maturity (see doc)
This profile focuses on the transition of GCP networking features to GA and enhanced security permissions.
• Cloud Platform: GCP
• Installation Type: IPI via Cluster-API (P1).
• Key Configuration Elements & Features:
◦ Customer Managed DNS (GA): Validate the stable implementation of customer-defined DNS solutions (OCPSTRAT-2215).
◦ Private Google Access: Ensure the cluster can reach GCP endpoints without public internet access (OCPSTRAT-561).
◦ Fine-grained Machine-API Permissions: Validate the transition from broad project-level scope to limited permissions (OCPSTRAT-2528).
◦ Spot VMs on GCP: Test the integration of Spot VMs within the Machine API (OCPSTRAT-2367).
• Networking: Validate Shared VPC and Shielded VMs (P1).
• Storage: GCP PD CSI with limited permissions (OCPSTRAT-2443) and VolumeAttributesClass (GA).
• Security: Validate Confidential Computing and FIPS On (P1).
