use the SUFFIXES mechanism to replace not-so-good time stamp based mechanism for making *_generated.c files from *.c.in files. Improve the behavior of make clean to remove generated files when building from a git checkout of the project. Signed-off-by: Howard Pritchard <[email protected]>
