The plugin is already using :hi def for the custom colors of the headings and bold / italic / underlined; the same should be done for the linking to the built-in highlight groups, so that users can easily customize those by putting corresponding ":hi link dokuwiki... ..." into their .vimrc configuration. This is documented in Vim's user manual at the end of :help 44.12
