Summary of Changes
Hello @hyukkwonepic, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
I've made several changes to the codebase, focusing on both application logic and project structure. The primary goal was to improve the user experience for daily standups by refining how the application handles user input and state, particularly when a user needs to create or update their standup. Concurrently, I've streamlined the project's overall architecture by removing the separate public website, consolidating documentation, and ensuring that the development environment is cleaner. These changes aim to make the application more robust and easier to maintain, while also providing better historical context for its evolution.
Highlights
- Code Refactoring: Named useEffect Hooks: I've refactored the
useEffecthooks withinCurrentUserStandupCard.tsxto have explicit, descriptive names. This significantly improves the readability and maintainability of the component's lifecycle logic, making it easier to understand what each effect is responsible for. - New Feature: Auto-Edit Mode for Missing Standups: A new feature has been added to
CurrentUserStandupCard.tsxthat automatically switches the user into editing mode if they haven't submitted a standup for the current day. This enhances the user experience by proactively guiding them to complete their daily update. - Component Cleanup: Removed Redundant Key Prop: I've removed the
keyprop from theCurrentUserStandupCardcomponent in bothfeed-view.tsxandgrid-view.tsx. This was an unnecessary prop that could potentially lead to unexpected component re-mounting issues, and its removal simplifies the component usage. - Project Restructuring: Website Removal: The entire
sites/websitedirectory, which previously housed the project's public website and blog, has been removed. This indicates a strategic decision to either deprecate this separate website or relocate its content and functionality elsewhere. - Documentation: Historical Release Notes: I've added a comprehensive set of historical release notes for versions v0.1.0 through v0.8.0 under the
docs/releasesdirectory. This provides a clear and organized changelog for past releases, improving project documentation and transparency.

Code Review
This pull request appears to be a development release, v0.8.1. The main changes include refactoring useEffect hooks in current-user-standup-card.tsx for better readability, removing a large number of files related to sites/website, adding numerous release note documents, and cleaning up unnecessary key props. My main feedback is on current-user-standup-card.tsx, where there's an opportunity to reduce code duplication by extracting repeated useEffect logic into a custom hook. The rest of the changes look solid.

| function handleCreateStandupResponse() { | ||

The logic inside this useEffect for handling the fetcher response is duplicated for handleUpdateStandupResponse (lines 245-259). This duplication can make the code harder to maintain.
Consider extracting this logic into a custom hook to handle both createStandupFetcher and updateStandupFetcher. This will centralize the response handling logic, making it more reusable and easier to manage.
Here's an example of what the custom hook could look like:
import { useEffect } from 'react';
import { useToast } from '~/hooks/use-toast';
import type { useFetcher } from 'react-router-dom';
// It's a good practice to define a shared type for the action data
type FetcherData = {
error?: string | null;
// other properties...
};
function useSubmitStandupResponseHandler(
fetcher: ReturnType<typeof useFetcher<FetcherData>>,
setIsEditing: (isEditing: boolean) => void
) {
const { toast } = useToast();
useEffect(() => {
if (fetcher.state === 'idle' || !fetcher.data) {
return;
}
const { error } = fetcher.data;
if (error) {
toast.error(error);
console.error(error);
setIsEditing(true);
} else {
toast.success('Your standup has been saved');
}
}, [fetcher.state, fetcher.data, setIsEditing, toast]);
}You could then use it in your component like this:
useSubmitStandupResponseHandler(createStandupFetcher, setIsEditing);
useSubmitStandupResponseHandler(updateStandupFetcher, setIsEditing);
