This ITN course introduces considerations for best practices in data visualization focusing on and discussing topics such as defining what data visualization is, utilizing exploratory data analysis, employing visual design principles, and making visualizations accessible.
This course will teach learners to:
- Explain the importance of data visualization
- Contrast exploratory & expository visualizations
- Choose appropriate graph types for datasets & questions
- List steps to simplify or improve a visualization
- Identify ways to improve the accessibility of a visualization
- Discuss ethical considerations when making visualizations
