This is a performance-focused fork of google-gemini/gemini-cli with first-class Bun support. It tracks upstream closely while optimizing the build and runtime for Bun.
Gemini CLI is an open-source AI agent that brings the power of Gemini directly into your terminal. It provides lightweight access to Gemini, giving you the most direct path from your prompt to our model.
Learn all about Gemini CLI in the upstream documentation.
- Bun-first: builds, tests, and runs with Bun out of the box β faster installs, faster startup.
- Simplified versioning: version strings use
v.YYYYMMDD.<hash>instead of semver nightly tags. - Auto-versioning on install:
install.shregenerates the version string from the current git state before installing. - Everything else from upstream: free tier, Gemini models, MCP, tools, etc.
1. Install Bun (if you don't have it):
curl -fsSL https://bun.sh/install | bash2. Clone and install:
git clone https://github.com/euxaristia/gemini-cli.git
cd gemini-cli
./install.shinstall.sh will generate the version info from your local git state and
install the CLI globally via bun add -g.
npm install -g @euxaristia/gemini-clinpx @euxaristia/gemini-cli# Install dependencies
bun install
# Generate version info
bun run generate
# Build
bun run build
# Build + install globally
./install.sh- Query and edit large codebases
