@aidan-fitz thanks for the patch! Users can already opt-in to this behavior by setting the replyLinkPreloadPingTpl option to "{{re|##}} " (see documentation for all the options). I think {{re}} adds more visual noise than {{u}}, but I am definitely open to changing my mind. For example, if a significant number of users are using that option, I will reconsider. Not closing yet to allow for a response.
