James Connolly - Tech Enthusiast, Digital Craftsman, Mentor

πŸš€ Aspiring Software Developer | Biocomputing Research Intern | Peer-Supported Learning Group Mentor

Hey there, and welcome to my GitHub profile!

I'm James Connolly, a Computer Systems student at the University of Limerick, driven by my passion for cutting-edge technology and problem-solving. My journey in tech has allowed me to blend research and development, particularly in the field of biocomputing, where I've had the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and guide the next generation of programmers.

πŸ”¬ Research Internship @ Biocomputing and Development Systems Group (Summer 2024)

During my summer internship, I worked closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop a medical data visualization app using R programming. This project sharpened my skills in data analysis, debugging, and software development, all while collaborating with fellow researchers. The application was designed to display clinical datasets in an intuitive format, helping researchers and medical professionals gain insights more efficiently.

Key Achievements:

  • Integrated a new feature that reduced application load times by 38%.
  • Presented weekly updates to a panel of mentors, refining my communication and presentation skills.
  • Gained proficiency in R Studio for both development and debugging, contributing to more efficient problem-solving.

Check out the application and repository links:
