ImageCompressor v0.1
Initial release.
IMPORTANT you need to save the compressed file as .byte or the decompressor wont see it.
Image formats supported JPEG, BMP, PNG. The program is purely for research purposes.
Usage:
Click open file to open and view an image from your local storage. The same dialog can be used to open and decode .byte files from the compressor. Now you can chose the quality setting of your choice. A quality factor of 1 means more compression but the image will lose fine detail features, 100 means all image features will be kept, but some loss from rounding will occur. The DCT coef field lets you type in from 1-64 how many of the coeffiecients from the formula you want to keep again 1 being the best compression but less quality and vice verca.
The compress to button should create a file with .byte extension. If you want to see the compressed image normaly you need to open the .byte file with the program and press "write to.." button, which will write the image as png, so that no loss from other standards is occured
!May not work correctly with white noise images.
