How to: Get your VRChat auth cookie
You need VRChat auth cookie to use the OnlineFriends plugin. This wiki page will provide the steps of getting the settings.
Please note that in this wiki page Google Chrome web browser is used during the process of getting the auth cookie. The UI may look different on other web browser but the steps should be similar.
- Visit VRChat Home
- Press F12 on your keyboard. It will bring up a window called "DevTools" (or developer tools or any name if you are not using Chrome).
- Click on the "Network" tab to see the network traffic. Please note that the list may be empty at the beginning, please refresh the page with the DevTools open so that it can record the network traffic happened when the page is loading.
- Enter "authToken" in the filter bar. Only one entry should be left in the network traffic list. Click on the entry.
- Copy the auth cookie from authcookie_ to the end. The copied auth cookie should look like authcookie_12345678-abcd-1234-abcd-1234567890
- You can then copy this value to the OnlineFriends setting screen. Remember to add auth= at the beginning. The value you put in the setting screen should look like auth=authcookie_12345678-abcd-1234-abcd-1234567890
