I'm only using 'telnet' from the inetutils package and telnet is a bit old and crusty, might as well switch to socat (netcat was another possibility but socat dependency tree is lighter and it's also seems more popular for some reason).

I'm only using `telnet` from the inetutils package and it's is a bit old and rusty, might as well switch to `socat` (`netcat` was another possibility but `socat` dependency tree is smaller and it also supports more protocols).
