Description
First off, I've started to like using Usermin for the first time in a "long, long" time as the updated Mail interface is really coming along.
Here are some suggestions for further enhancing the Mail experience (borrowed from Gmail).
- More Icons Shown When Message(s) Checked (rather then in dropdown menu)
- Archive Mail
- Label Mail
== MORE ICONS SHOWN ==
When messages are checked in a folder, it would great to have
"Report Spam" (or "Report and Delete" depending on preferences) shown as a default icon in the shown list instead of having to expose this by clicking the dropdown as IMHO this is one of the most common things I'm doing when I'm checking a bunch of messages aside from moving them to another folder.
"Archive Mail" icon to quickly archive messages -- essentially move them to an Archive folder -- more on this in a moment.
"Label Mail" icon to quickly label a message -- similar to "moving" dialog but if I understand "Virtual Folders" correctly adding the message(s) to a "Virtual Folder" similar to labeling in Gmail.
== ARCHIVE MAIL ==
This would be done with a two part process. As a basic option you could simply have an "Archives" folder created and the messages moved there... As a more advanced option you could setup some preferences which like Thunderbird would let you define how archives are stored...
Ex.
Yearly (Achives.2021)
Monthly (Archives.2021.04 or Archives.2021-04)
Essentially this operation would sort of be a shortcut and a more advanced version of the "Move" operation with a predefined overall goal.
== LABEL MAIL ==
As mentioned above, if my understanding of Virtual Folders is correctly, they essentially are more or less like Labels... If so, one could create a Virtual Folder aka Label and then using this icon after selecting a message (or while reading one) could select one or more Labels (Virtual Folders)
As always, happy to contribute ideas which will further enhance the Authentic Theme, and Virtualmin/Webmin/Usermin overall.
