`jupyter_rfb` freezes after a few seconds with newer versions of jupyterlab

Will post a video later but I've seen this with multiple users and myself on newer versions of jupyterlab (seen it on at least v4.4+). You can resize and interact with the canvas for a few seconds and then it just freezes. Haven't been able to figure out a solution, but we've generally had a number of issues with newer versions of jupyterlab (such as cells playing peekaboo) and I've found that rolling back to v4.2.6 works flawlessly. This issue is more to inform users to try v4.2.6 if they encounter the same issue, I know at least 4+ people who've fixed the issue by rolling back to 4.2.6.
