Student app sorting then filtering bug

Problem: If you sort students, then apply a filter, the results get all wonky (it shows the wrong numbers of applications, and possibly the wrong applications). If you apply the filters first before sorting, then everything is fine.

1. Load a profile-students view (e.g. /profile_name/students)
2. Sort one of the students into another folder
3. Apply some filter to the view
4. Boom . . . wrong applications listed.
