I'd love to :) However, it will be during my free time, as I am unable to do it part of my work. I will open a PR as soon as I get some free time ;)

One question, is there a plan to use Fenzo? If yes, as it's in java how would you plan communicating with it?

Fenzo would be interesting for sure, but as you point out the Java-Python mix will be at best sub-optimal. There are tools for that like javabridge [1] but that'll still be sub-optimally. Should Fenzo really be the best option, then a re-write of the framework in Java might make sense. But that probably requires some investigation into Fenzo - on a high level it seems to fit, but if it actually does; I'm, not sure yet :-)
