Log viewer not working for me on Windows in the dev version. Works fine in CRAN version.

Hi. FYI

vitals::vitals_log_dir_set("./logs")
vitals::vitals_view()

works fine for me using the CRAN version of vitals. But when I installed the development version so I could use generate_structured(), the log viewer stopped working. It just says "no logs". The dev version is showing in the Positron viewer that it's looking for a file D:\Sharon\Docs\Testing\evals\logs on Windows. The CRAN version doesn't say that.

I'm on Windows and am running this all in Positron.

I thought it had something to do with Windows file formats, Claude Opus 4.5 agreed and wrote me a PR #200. That may cause other problems, but I still think it may have to do with slashes in Windows files.

@simonpcouch - Just as a note, I am having the same issue but on Ubuntu Linux 22.04 on Workbench. The logs get written, but the viewer does not display them. So I don't think this is just a windows issue.

Just merged the linked PR #200, as I think it's a well-scoped fix for the issue that @smach describes. Will thus close this PR as well.

That said, there are definitely still some additional issues with the log viewer following my update to the vendored log viewer from Inspect in this dev version! I was able to reproduce one other issue, but if either of yall are still seeing issues as well, please file an issue with screenshots, logs from your browser's devtools console, and a note on your OS. These log viewer issues can be gnarly, thanks for your patience😅
