I've tried a couple times, with limited success, to use the Talon-managed draft editor. While trying to answer a "what was that command, again" type question, I pulled up the .talon files in
plugin/draft_editor. I wanted to close the editor and saw that "draft discard" is the command, but Talon refuses to recognize the word "discard," instead interpreting it as "this card" in most cases. While I'm not ruling out a mic or pronunciation issue at this point, I finally remembered that, in an earlier attempt, "discard" was not the word I'd used--it was maybe "close" or "hide," I'm sure...After some more digging, I realized there are two draft-related plugins in
plugin/, both of which use "draft" as the prefix for all of their commands. Some of their commands conflict with each other, i.e. "draft submit" is mapped to different functions. That probably explains why it never works for me 😅From reading the python scripts in both plugins, it looks like
draft_editorattempts to use a known, external editor program, such as VSCode, whiletalon_draft_windowlaunches its own editor that supports anchors, etc.My question is if these two plugins are related to each other, or if one supersedes the other, if they are meant to complement each other...?
