Looking into the codebase, you can quickly see the eyesore that is the global CHANGE_IN_REPEAT_LOOP Function. It is used in multiple places and its name is ambiguous.

CHANGE_IN_REPEAT_LOOP is renamed, and possibly relocated
Describe alternatives you've considered
Use of a comment to explain it as attempted, but a rename would be much more effective
