Shake UI Language is not changing in runtime

Description:

When user is opening app with for example german language than shake is initialized, and opened UI elements like Home are also localized. When user is changing an app language (not system language) to english and opens Shake UI Home language is still in german. We can set some labels and fields as desired but most of them are still in wrong language. After app cold start language in shake UI is adjusted and correct.

Expected result:

After changing app language it should update Shake UI elements like Home and Form.

Additional info:

Every other part of our app is respecting language changes, it looks like Shake is catching something.

Hi @jwojcik-fm, we have tested this on our sample app and it worked as expected. Our repro steps were:

1. Set English, German and Spanish languages in system settings
2. Add localization files for languages in Xcode (this enables option to select preferred language for app)
3. Run the app and open Shake -> Shake is on English
4. Minimize app and set preferred language in settings to German -> device's screen gets updated -> Shake is on German

Maybe you are using some custom code/libs to localize your app. If you can provide more details and/or code snippets it would be helpful.

@mstanic-shake Hi, thanks for reply. Shake is is changing language when user will change system settings language, but in most cases in-app language change operates on not device settings but app settings. We don't want to change language of whole device from an app - right ?

Steps to reproduce:

1. User is in app, there is a settings screen
2. User changes language for one of the supported languages with support of

i18next.changeLanguage(newLang) 

which is integrated with: https://docs.expo.dev/versions/latest/sdk/localization/

3. Language is changed (change is also visible in app settings (outside app)

We got this i18next integrated with per app language settings, so changing with this method is also updating language app setting. However this metod is not triggering refresh of the whole app. If user changes language in app settings (outside app) whole app is restarted. I have noticed that shakebugs need this restart to rerender with the new language. It can be achieved also with simple manual close app and open again. With next opening the language is changed.

Funny thing is that this is our only sdk which is not able to refresh after this language change 💀

I need to find a way to restart sdk without escaping app, or maybe there is any chance to upgrade shakebugs to listen to language changes, not only check in initial app render.
