Explain your issue
From readme:
PS2: 1-64 MB Card Size Support
Support for card sizes between 1 and 64 MB has been added. Cards larger than 8 MB rely heavily on quick SD card access, so on older or lower-quality SD cards, these larger cards may become corrupt.Note
While the feature has been extensively tested, it is still recommended to use 8MB cards, as this is the official specification for memory cards.
So I know that 8 MB memory cards are recommended.
However I decided to use 4 MB memory card because these cards use (twice) less space especially when you have a lot of PS2 games on it.
Also some games require (for save):
~3 MB - Colin McRae Rally 04
~2.2 MB - Hitman: Blood Money
So a 2 MB VMC will have insufficient space.
Anyway I have notice that (so far) these games cannot properly format 4 MB VMC
by its embedded function to do it:
- Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend (SLES_539.08)
- Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary (SLES_546.74)
- Urban Chaos: Riot Response (SLES_539.91)
- Hitman: Blood Money (SLES_530.28)
This is just an observation.
Anyway you can format 4 MB VMC when you press reset on a console while a game has been launched and a VMC has been created.
Enter Browser, Memory Card (PS2)/1, when you enter this memory card you should be able to format it.
After that you can save your progress without a problem.
Best regards.
