Can we confirm you're running this command npm create sanity@latest -- --template sanity-io/sanity-template-sveltekit-clean with the -- before the arguments. Otherwise the arguments are not received correctly and just npm create sanity@latest is run` — which would explain it just creating a regular Sanity project not using the template

I was able to successfully run this template, but I'd like to understand where this isn't working and get it remedied. It would be helpful if you could provide some addition details to help me see whats going on on and help troubleshoot 😄

I'll list my steps below:

I'm on node v22.20.0

1. Run npm create sanity@latest -- --template sanity-io/sanity-template-sveltekit-clean
2. Follow the promps selecting "project name", "dataset", "project output path".

3. Inside the directory that was created, you should see a /studio directory and a /sveltekit-app directory`. (My assumption is that this is not what you all are getting returned from the install script. Is that correct?)

4. in that root directory, you can run npm run dev in the root, or cd into /studio or sveltekit-app and run npm run dev

Hi @kenjonespizza . Yes performing these steps as described seems to work. However, it does seem like the template dependencies are relatively outdated and the Svelte code is not Svelte 5. Are there any plans to continue to perform upkeep on this template repo?

I've got a draft PR up for migrating this repo to Svelte 5 here, this also moves the template to use @sanity/sveltekit in place of @sanity/visual-editing and @sanity/svelte-loader. As soon as the updates to our docs have been approved and published we should be able to merge that PR in. Thanks for your patience!
