Speed cam with ESP32-Cam

Could it be possible to involve a kind of speed cam?
I think of aiming the camera on a street with traffic, defining a certain distance and measure the speed of passing objects.
Is this a new feature idea to this project or is it already asked / requested?

Could try use the machine learning feature to recognise number plates then calculate speed from transitions of number plate in frames

But first I would need a reliable and fast connection to the ESP32-Cam. I am struggling with crash loops and other difficulties like no connection at all at the moment and am far away to calculate the distance of a moving object.

Use ethernet and poe instead of wifi

Could it be reliable with an ESP32s3 instead of the normal ESP32-Cam (with only 4 MB Flash)?
I cannot believe that this immense delays are wifi related, the ESP32 is directly beside the router.

To recognize number plates, I would need a view directly onto the front or back of a car. But then I have no real distance when a car passes by, the image becomes bigger and disappears when the car passed the camera.
But my view onto the street is from the side, I dont see license plates.
Anyway, I think now this is not the task for a ESP32-Cam at all, I would need a much faster camera.
