not receiving onvif motion event alarms on PVR PRO

Camera yi-1080 9FUS with 0.5.5 y203c firmware, 4.5.0 base versión.
Just installed PVR PRO server running on QNAP NAS with 6 of these cameras configured as ONVIF profile S+T.
Everything seems to work great except I don't receive motion events alarms to start recording. I can configure motion detection by PVR software but not the ONVIF camara event.

I would prefer the camara detection to advise the server to start recording.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Are you sure that QNAP supports these messages.
Please, test the events with Onvif Device Manager.

And yes, the cam supports audio streaming.
Both directions.

I soupose QVR PRO supports these kind of messages as you can choose between software detection or camera detection.

I've been messing around with ODM and 3 of the cameras and I don't get a clear answer.

• In Two of them I never receive motion alarm messages (and I don't see any differences in config) but I'm sure motion detection is working as the camera saves files to the SD-card when motion is detected.
• In the third one, I can get some messages (not all of them, but most), but only if QVR is not receiving stream. When the camera is streaming to the QVR PRO server I never get messages (neither the QVR PRO or the ODM software).

QVR PRO is allways recording from the cameras (temporal recording) and when an event is trigered it permanent saves 5 seconds before the event and 90 seconds after the event, but it's continously receiving streaming from the cameras, so it would never receive any kind of message.

I've been using this hack since version 0.3.1 in 2020 but I never upgraded as I only used this cameras in home assistant with no recording at all. Now I bought the new NAS I updated and see the great improvement of the hack since theese days.... Realy a pity not been able to get the full features of the hack (probably because of the low quality of theese cameras).
If I don't get to make them work, I would give a try to the FTP saving (as this feature was not in the earlier 0.3.1 version that I had)

I'll apreciate if you can see a light in this information.

Onvif is not a simple argument.
Specifications aren't clear and the compatibiliy it's a problem.
But...

First of all you need to use the last version of the hack because I updated onvif recently and I added a lot of new features.
Maybe I can send you a beta to try the last release.

Then you should understand what type of event your NVR support.
There are 2 different types:

• Pull-point (not really real time but it works through a firewall)
• Basic (real time but it doesn't work through a firewall)

When you use ODM, you can choose the events subscription type:

Try both types and remember to disable you software firewall otherwise Basic won't work.
This should be the result:

If the problem is not fixed, please run a network traffic capture between NVR and CAM and send me the file.
And, if you can, the traffic when you try ODM.

Both behavior are not normal. Onvif should not depends on the number of clients and on the stream.
Somehing is wrong.

HI,

Now everything seems clear. Disable the firewall helped me to understand what was going on. Now event detection works perfect for all the cameras using ODM (most of the failures in detection were because I was detected before opening ODM event window and didn't wait for the false message)

Still not able to receive ONVIF detection messages with QVR PRO, but that would probably be nothing related with the hack. Do not know is something related with my network configuration or the camera profile in the QVR PRO.

There are about 8.000 IP camera models preconfigured in QVR PRO, but I had to use generic ONVIF configuration as not Yi-cam or M-Star are listed.

As I already wrote, Onvif specifications aren't clear and the compatibiliy it's a problem.
Maybe your nvr doesn't like some response from onvif server and it doesn't activate events features.
If you have another cam that works with your nvr (in terms of events) try to capture the network traffic between the cam and the nvr.
Do the same with yi cam and send me both files.

I do not have any other IP camera except those 6 yi-cams, but I don't mind to buy one of the included in the compatibility list of QVR PRO just for the test (https://www.qnap.com/en/compatibility-qvr-pro).

I will need some help for capturing network traffic as I don't any experience.

To capture the traffic inside the cam:

• download tcpdump from here
  https://github.com/roleoroleo/yi-hack-utils/tree/main/Allwinner-v2
• decompress it to the folder yi-hack/bin of the SD card (create it if doesn't exist).
• open a ssh session
• run the command
  /tmp/sd/yi-hack/bin/tcpdump -i wlan0 -w /tmp/sd/capture1.pcap
• start the onvif negotiation between the cam and the nvr
• exit tcpdump with CTRL-C
• post the file capture1.pcap
