Is this the end of PnP PowerShell for on-prem?

Hi all,

First of all, want to appologize if this topic has already been discussed, but I wasn't able to find anything about it when googling... Maybe poor googling-method :-)

I heard a rumor that PnP PowerShell for on-premises environments will be discontinued during 2022, has anyone else heard/read about this? Or is it simply just rumors..?
