Command completion does not work for the first token

**Describe the bug**
After creating a variable in a Jupyter Notebook, you should be able to e.g. type `d` and hit `<Tab>` to get the suggestion `DISP`.  This does not work with `Session.do_complete()`. You can see the workaround I used in ikestrel's `completenames`.
