An idea for dynamic simulation for tespy

Hello everyone!
I am very interested in teh software TESpy. I read the paper published on The Journal of Open Source Software. The software is believed to have the same ability in stable simulation like ebslion or aspen plus. However, dynamic simulation is also essential in energy system simulation like APRSO, RELAP5, which is desigened for dynamic process. Is there any possibility to modfy some parts of the TESpy like aspen plus, enabling TESpy to simulate dynamic process, like heat and mass control.
If I'm able to successfully simulate some dynamic progress with TESpy, I'd be happy to share the results with the community.

there have not been efforts yet to integrate dynamic simulation. The package is not built for that in its current state, I cannot really help you to get something started here, because I am also not an expert in this kind of topic. Maybe also have a look at thermocycle, which is an older project in modelica http://thermocycle.squoilin.eu/.

Hey,

I would like to understand why within the package it is not possible to integrate dynamic simulations, since I want to do some dynamic simulations as well. Is it the chosen mathematical equations (differential or integral?), which do not allow the dynamic equation? And is a linear optimization integrated and thats why the dynamic simulation doesnt work?
If it is possible to explain it, I would appreciate it alot. Thank you.

All the equations are built for steady state operation, there is not time discretization built into them. To allow dynamic simulation you would need to add time as additional dimension (at least for some of the components) and then also make the solver handle time. Right now it only can solve one steady state at a time.
