Don't show completed tasks as crossed-out / struck through

Completed tasks are struck through plus greyed out, therefore pretty hard to read. In many cases it is still important information to see which tasks have been completed.

Describe the solution you'd like

Please change the style from "strike through + greyed out" to just "checked" and maybe "slightly greyed out", so the items are easier to read. This should be at least configurable.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I have searched for - but not found the option to - configure this.

Additional context

I have opened a related feature request in the /text repository, as the same behaviour is present in the Nextcloud text editor with To-Do / checkbox lists. I don't know in which way this is connected.

Well, I'm not aiming at the details, I'm aiming at quick and uncomplicated overview.

When you're working in professional teams, you don't just want to forget about items, once they are done. Especially other team members, or team managers want to quickly get an overview of what has been done. That is being complicated by a "done" list that is hard to read.
We are planning to offer this app in the public sector and that point has been criticized.

I wouldn't have thought that this proposal doesn't resonate :)

Well for teams there's Deck since in Tasks you can't assign tasks. And Deck would have the desired behavior. Tasks is really for the personal task management. And compared to other task management apps in that area a "fire and forget" when completing tasks is pretty common.

One thing may be the misunderstanding of the use cases for Tasks and Deck. This is a valid argument.

But I would like to company the critics about the appearance of a completed task. In the end it is a UX and accessibility issue, because the task content is actually hard to read with the strike through.

And IMHO it is worth a discussion. A completed task is identifiable by

• the section "Completed Tasks"
• text is greyed out
• a leading checked checkbox
• the done information at the end of the line
• and by the strike through.

Depending on the used font, there may be some difficulties to get the text at first sight. This is why I would classify it as a accessibility issue. Users may be annoyed by this, which makes it a UX issue, too.

Comparing both variants, I'd like to tend to the clearer variant, without the line-through. So why not try to think about getting rid of the strike-through, if it may improve readability?

I agree that, for now, tasks aren't sharable, so not an issue for other team members. But I would very much welcome the change for readability and accessibility reasons.
