v3 hardware ?

I got a new UV-K5(8), looks like it's a v3. Anyone here got one ?

I may or may not have bricked it trying to flash the v2 fw 😹

Time to break out the board and try flashing the factory firmware again using SWD

A k5 is not bricked until it can't enter the dfu/flashing mode anymore or when you really want to mess up with the swd😃

Is there a way to restore it back to factory FW K5ENG-071_v7.00.11_publish.bin without SWD ?

It is going to the bootloader DFU mode, but the web flasher is not able to flash the binary.

Yeah, managed to use https://github.com/armel/uv-k1-k5v3-firmware-custom/releases/tag/v4.3 fusion edition with https://armel.github.io/uvtools2/

It lives to die another day :P

How2test if it is an V2 or a false marked V3 ?!?!
Very simple. Sitch ON radio a see the version info at startup or have a look in Menu.

A V2 PCB has Version 1.2.
In menu in shown Version 1.02.01

Or have a look inside.
Mine was marked internally as V2 on the PCB. And false marked V3 on the sticker !

A real Version 3 has firmware 7.x...
