Hi Bob, Officially from myself no Aurora is only Windows based it might run in Wine but I'm not certain. I am planning to bring Aurora to all platforms in 2026 but for now you might find something suitable in the wiki page for third party apps. |

Many thanks for letting me know. I have installed Linux Mint recently and
tried CQRlog for the first time today. Installation was a bit of a learning
curve, but it's working correctly.
Good luck with your project.

Hi Bernard,
I am a new user to Linux. I download Linux Mint Cinnamon and since then I
have used YouTube and ChatGPT to help me. I recently installed CQRLog and
at the moment I am trying to get it working with WSJT-X. I was previously
using Windows and my two year old Lenovo died on me. It appears to be the
Motherboard that is broken and it's more expensive than buying a new PC. At
the moment I am using an old i3 laptop and it's very slow. I really need to
find the best option for my old laptop.
Many thanks.
Bob.

Best wishes,
Rob Adlington.

Hi @m0bob <https://github.com/m0bob>,
How comfortable are you with running scripts in the Linux commandline?
I've been using CloudlogBashcat <https://github.com/g0wfv/CloudlogBashCat>
for about a year-ish. It sends radio mode, freq to Cloudlog. Not everything
but a good start, and it's been working great.
I've modified it to now to also send TX power. I hope that helps. If
you've got questions I can try to help.
73s,
Bernard

Hi Bernard,
Many thanks for your kind offer to help.
For now, I’m going to persevere with CQRLog and hopefully get it working
smoothly with WSJT-X. It’ll definitely be a learning curve. I really like
Linux Mint, but I do find that some programs can be a bit challenging to
install and configure. Fortunately, YouTube has plenty of helpful guides.
Before my Lenovo died, I used LOG4OM, but as that’s Windows-only. I’m
planning to buy another desktop PC after Christmas and will install Linux
on a separate hard drive alongside Windows.
Once again thank you and 73.
Bob Adlington.

The option I mentioned - the script CloudlogBashCat - will do basic CAT
control but it needs to have a Cloudlog account to access. So it's a bit of
chicken and egg.
It sounds like you might have a possible logging replacement already. If
you want to look at Cloudlog again but want to make sure CAT control is
working before you "commit" to it I'll be happy to help you figure it out.

That's a pain. Sorry to hear that. :/
If it helps - I run WSJT-X, and my other radio applications (FLRIG,
FLDIGI, HAMCLOCK, etc) on a Raspberry-Pi 4
<https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/raspberry-pi-4-model-b/> (about
40-60 quid). It's not *very* powerful but it runs them with enough memory
and CPU to spare.

I do not have a Windows PC at the moment. Is the CAT control option available for Linux (Mint)?
Thanks,
Bob.
