App doesn't prompt for camera permission

When I first discovered the app I tried to scan the barcode of an item but all I got was a back window.
I tried a few things like reinstalling and clearing app cache etc and eventually noticed the app was using no permissions and camera permission was not allowed. After allowing it the app allowed me to start scanning things.

I recently set up the app for my family and they had the same issue so I set the permission for them, but was surprised that none of us got a prompt that the app was missing the camera perm.

The app should really check for the perm at the time of scanning for barcode then prompt for it

@nascentt I tested it on my device (Pixel 9) the flow that you have told me is working fine
It asks for Camera Permission and after you allow it, then you can access the camera. I tried by disabling the camera permission again manually but still it ask when I click on the scan bar code icon.
Can you please share the recording then it will be good and what device you are using

It happened on both my and my wife's phones, both android 12 Samsung s10e

Also happens with my work phone. Just installed the app on my work Samsung a51 and the exact same thing happens.
So dunno if it's Samsung specific or not but that's different models of phone and all of them have this issue with only this app.

Having to record and share a video was a nightmare because GitHub rejects even short videos. But here you go, hope it allows you to fix the bug.
