Bug description

After installing any software (via Terminal) or making changes to the panel (such as installing applets), the whole desktop almost freezes and one has to restart the desktop.
Install wine - restart, update gpu driver - restart, install a cli tool, make changes to XKB options, change SMPlayer keyboard shortcuts - restart and so on and so on. The desktop freeze happens at random intervals and after random actions, often unrelated to the desktop. Sometimes changing any Cinnamon settings also freezes the desktop. This is a VERY annoying behavior!
The latest illogical freeze was just after opening FileZilla. Before I ran FileZilla, the desktop was fine. After I opened it - another freeze requiring desktop restart. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install a seemingly unrelated to the desktop program (terminal).
  2. OR simply make changes to XKB options.
  3. (try to) open terminal and to use it - you'll observe the terminal has become unresponsive. Cinnamon restart (desktop restart, not system reboot) is required to fix it.

Expected behavior

Installing programs and changing Cinnamon settings shouldn't freeze the desktop.

Additional information

Clean install of Arch with brand new 6.6.5 (meaning no user configurations) and that freeze is still happening.
