Filenames saved to SD card with lower case extensions? #3

Hi liaminventions - Hope you don't mind me reaching out to you this way. I have been looking/working with the libfat32.a65 and libsd.a65 libraries from this repo, XPL-32. I am aware of the George Foot one as well as your fork, but ended here with these copies trying to come to understand why all files written to the SD card, regardless if the filename has an uppercase extension, are written as lowercase?

For example, if I name a file AAAAAAAAAAA, it is written to the card as AAAAAAAA.aaa ?

Like you, I have a home brew I have been playing with this against, and it's working well otherwise. I must admit though, it seems like I have stared at the code for hours and can not see where it modifies any part of the filename to become lower case, or upper for that matter :-)

I notice the George's repo, the same behavior with the creation of the TESTFILE.TXT, for me on my SD becomes TESTFILE.txt.

Is this true for you as well? If you get a chance and have some insight, I would appreciate you!

Also thanks for your hard work and sharing!

Regards,

Don
