ATYPE_RXPDO not set on record

I am just starting with Ethercat stuff, I can get the Variables or Arrays into a PDO, but Records fail to get the ATYPE_RXPDO or ATYPE_TXPDO tag attached. It looks like it is set at the Record level and not the subitem level.
I looked into the code, but it is hard to find where its is set.
Is this user error and I fail to understand how to use records, or is this a bug?
