[FR] Trip Planner (BETA) Visibility of POI on Map disturbed by "Add Item" prompt

While planning a trip in the new BETA trip view, the "Add Item" window restricts the full view of the map and POIs.

The "Add Item" window currently opens in a way that blocks the POIs in the center of the map.

Describe the solution you'd like

Since selecting a POI still requires choosing it from a dropdown menu in the "Add Item" window, it would be very helpful to keep the POI and its name clearly visible on the map during selection. This would make the process more intuitive and user-friendly.

Additional context

The "Add Item" window could be opened within the "Plans" sidebar in the respective "Day" instead, allowing an unrestricted view of the map and making trip planning more comfortable.

I'll fix the repeated Add Item UI issue, it takes a lot of place indeed.

Regarding the dialog: technical constraints prevent opening dialogs inside menus, and implementing this would add UX complexity across devices. A 300px aside panel isn't viable for plan creation.

Not all of my POIs are saved using the Latin alphabet. This makes selecting certain POIs (for example, those in Chinese) quite difficult when they are not visible on the map. The preview images are also too small to give enough context to confidently choose the correct POI. Improving visibility on the map would make the selection process much easier.

For me, planning a journey is a visual task. Being able to see the POI locations while curating a trip is crucial. During the initial planning phase, the visual placement of POIs matters far more than their names.

Your suggestion sounds perfect! Clicking on an unused place could open the "Add Item" modal with the details of that unused place already selected 👍. That would give the option to either plan the trip with primarily the map or by selection places in the "Add Item" modal.
