FR: standalone application

Since January, I've been using FFmpeg CLIs to mux my files before uploading to YouTube.

While I understand the usefulness of the plug-ins, especially for people using tools offering similar UX (Dolby Atmos in Pro Tools, for example), it's actually a more involved and time consuming setup to use the Eclipsa plug-ins when the task at hand is only muxing the multi-channel audio with the video file.

Personally, I don't mind using FFmpeg for muxing as it's a quite fast process (around 50x real time on my computer), but I know that using CLIs in the terminal is baffling or even repulsive to many people.

So this is essentially my plea for a simple standalone app for muxing audio and video.

Indeed, that would be wonderful, ideally with the option to choose between different monitoring modes such as “Stereo LoRo Downmix”, “Binaural Simulation with or without tracking”, and “Discrete Multichannel (for example listening in 7.1.4 or 9.1.6)”.

As a music and audiovisual mixer, the majority of my sessions are now in Dolby Atmos, at the request of broadcasters or clients, increasingly so over the past few years. Given the late arrival of Eclipsa, I think the ideal solution would be a Standalone version that, as requested here, allows not only the integration of discrete streams but also ADM files, since that is the standard output format for 3D audio in professional studios. The challenge is that this would require a custom “Spatial Coding” output to reduce the maximum number of channels from 128 down to 28, but I believe this is what would allow Eclipsa Audio to become standardized more quickly.
