Cannot access Settings

Describe the bug
I have been enjoying using Cherry Tree for a few months, and wanted to change some of the settings.
However, I cannot find any way of accessing the settings, as I wanted to add some shortcuts.
I'm entering this as a bug, as I feel there should always be some kind of way of accessing settings, even with the menu turned off.
There doesn't seem to be a button or any way to access settings via right-click. I don't have a menu bar (maybe I'd previously turned it off? and I can't find a shortcut to turn it back on again)
The online help says "Ctrl + Alt + P" brings up preferences. When I try this it brings up a colour picker.
I thought I might be able to access setting via CLI, but the online help doesn't mention anything apart from
python2 cherrytree

Try to find a way to access settings
Maybe there is a way to turn on menu bar? (not mentioned in online help)

By the way, I don't know what version of Cherrytree I'm running. I assume that would be something I can find out from the menu, or from the settings.

One way of hacking preferences is to edit the preferences in config.cfg

I use Sublime Text as co editor and run this .. as bash

subl ~/.config/cherrytree/config.cfg
then killall cherrytree
then cherrytree

to restart afresh. and you might decide to save different config.cfg files for different modes of usage.

I supplement my workflow by using Albert launcher. So CherryTree (and other co-tools) commands can be built into Albert as a one stop shop. A higher layer. Also add to your tools repertoire Recoll and hunt for every *.ctd file in your desktop (after Recoll index run which might take some time on first usage) by command ext:ctd. You then have to associate *.ctd with other than Recol default viewer of *.ctd. Recoll > Preferences > User Interface > Choose Editor Applications > MimeType > application/xml - link to CherryTree

I'll try out Albert Keyboard

In Cherrytree, I'm now able to open preferences and in the shortcuts it tells me F12 for toggling menu (maybe I'd previously accidentally hit that). It doesn't mention that in the online help.
Although that's fixed my problem, I'll leave this issue open, as I see this as a bit of a flaw in Cherrytree (at least put this in the online help!).

The Manual is way behind. version 0.38.9,
October, 2019. You saw the clue - python2 cherrytree

There is only Giuspen on it . So pitch in and help. Or add some notes to supplement. It is not a flaw, just too many things to do. Accept that.
