How to access multiple years of financial data to post to API?

Hello, I'm wondering how I could access multiple years of income statements, cashflow statements, and balance sheets for a specified company and post that data via FastAPI (to use it in my react frontend). It seems like there's MULTIPLE ways to do it the same way, and I'm very confused. Some guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Wow, this is amazing! Thank you so much @dgunning . You're doing God's work! One more question I had was how would you recommend getting specific values (like revenue) from companies? I am aware that you have a few guides on that, but do those work consistently for companies that have, like, different labels or titles for their income statements and more? Please let me know. If not, I will try and find ways around it.

For some of the code I used, there seems to be some discrepancy with some values. If we look at AAPL, 2020 and after, things like Revenue from Contract with Customer, Operating Income (Loss), Income (Loss) from Continuing Operations before Income Taxes, and Gross Profit (as well as others), seem to be decreased before 2021 to an incorrect amount.

For example, AAPL revenue in 2021 was $365 billion, consistent with the code in the guide above. But for 2020, it says it was $65 billion, despite it being $275 billion. The quarter revenue posted in 2020 in Septemeber was around $65 billion, so maybe it's drawing from that?
