Print all visit reports for entire case

This request / use case came from feedback from a Social Service Specialist (social worker.)

As a Social Service Specialist, I want to quickly print (typically to PDF) all visit reports from all referrals that have happened in the life of the case.

• A common and understandable use case for social workers

• Providers would not have this capability

• Cassandra went into each referral and downloaded the visit reports for this social worker, but it was time-consuming and detail-oriented work to ensure I got all the referrals and didn't duplicate any.

• Big wrinkle: Timeout issue, on a case there may be hundreds of reports

• Is there a way to solve that problem: batching? Multiple PDFs?

• Would be ideal if users didn’t have to split the batch themselves, but not unworkable if we can add clear instructions

• Social service specialist we talked to was not familiar with default browser functionality to print any page, so a button that says "PRINT" and loads the print dialog is ideal

• John proposed adding a Reports tab to case details, showing only approved visit reports. New case details summary page which is keyed off of case number.

• Providers would use old Case Details summary page.

• Other ideas?

• We know it's definitely hitting the timeout problem. Can we get around this in any way? Can we chunk them by month or quarter? Fits use case where they may want to know the most recent information, say last 2 months.

• Still only want to see approved visit reports.

• Do we recommend a feature like this for where Sprout is right now?

• Discovery is substantially similar to social worker -- same permissions -- but they want ALL documents to download. Social worker is often scanning.

Conclusions

• Value proposition is very high for social workers, a currently underserved audience
• Solving timeout problem will help current users in their use cases, and is critical for this feature also
• Dev team meet again soon to discuss
• Critical to talk to social workers for their feedback on this feature and to hear about low-hanging fruit needs they have
