Something is not working as it should regarding the "tails" of elements. I have noticed this in connection with "seg" and inline "note", but this may affect other areas as well.

In addition, whitespace treatment before and after "seg" is still not perfect. A single space seems to be missing before text in the result, and undesired newlines are inserted.
