Users cannot generate certificates. Prompted for payment.

Hello,
When a user complete a course they cannot create a certificate via learning path. We have setup assessments, weights, certificates etc exactly as per your youtube video. However, the user receives the following message:
If you want to get the certificate and/or skills associated with this course, you need to buy the certificate service. You can go to the services catalog by clicking this link: https://XXXX.com/plugin/buycourses/src/service_catalog.php

The course is FREE and we have no idea why this is showing up. Is there an option that turns this off/on?

You seem to have enabled the "Buy courses" plugin and enabled the certificate service for payment. If you don't use the Buy courses plugin, go to Admin > Plugins > Buy courses > Config and select "No" in the "Enable plugin" option. This should come back to normal.

If you do need the Buy courses plugin, make sure you disable anything you might have in the "Services" tab of the prices configuration section of the plugin.

I require the buy courses option. I have checked all as you recommended > Sell courses >Include services = No.
Available courses/ Payment Configuration/ List of courses on sale (The course is not listed here). All seems correct. However still receive same message. Thanks.

If I add a generate certificate in the learning path I still get the buy requirement. However, I have noticed if I check the "My Certificates" on the Home /Left menu, or My Certificates under my Profile (top right) the certificate shows correctly. Does this mean anything?
