Free module preview #7338

Hi, in a paid course, is there a way to allow the first module to be freely previewed? If yes, any suggestions on how to do it? Thanks |

Hi @ywarnier thanks, I think I will follow your suggestion. There is an issue though: video is not rendered in the description popup window that appears from the course catalog. I have tried both via code snippet insertion (I have videos hosted on Spotlightr) and Youtube button in the WYSIWYG editor. Strange thing is that on the course presentation page the video shows up https://prnt.sc/_Wf5aDKBw4VU whereas on the description popup window there is just a placeholder (here I have tried with a Youtube video via the homonymous button https://prnt.sc/kmZ2xPq8MSpe). If you take a look at the Chrome dev tools there is no trace in the code of the Youtube URL I had just inserted a couple of seconds before. Thanks. |

Hi @mindfulnessbergamo
There's no direct way to do that, but you could add the first module in the form of a video in the "Course description" tool, so users would be able to see it from the course catalogue, a bit like what Udemy does. Not sure that fits your needs but it's the easiest way I see to do it.
Note that videos uploaded to the course's documents tool will not be visible from the catalogue (those videos are permission-protected) so you would need to upload the video somewhere public (your personal folder inside Chamilo's social network area works for that, if you later select the video from there when showing it in the Course description tool).
