t2.micro isn't available for free tier of AWS, it is recommended to update this to t3.micro so those going through the tutorial do not get an error. As most using this probably are using AWS free tier.

AWS made some pretty major changes to how the free tier works in July, 2025: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/aws-free-tier-update-new-customers-can-get-started-and-explore-aws-with-up-to-200-in-credits/. This includes changing which instances are part of the free tier for AWS accounts created after July, 2025. For older accounts, the free tier rules are a bit different: https://aws.amazon.com/free/legacy/?p=free&c=hp2&z=1

That said, using t3.micro is a safe choice in both old and new accounts, so it's a reasonable option for everyone!
