To reproduce:

  1. Open Etar, go to Settings, and press "Add CalDAV calendar". (it should open DAVx5)
Screenshot of Etar Settings
  1. (DAVx5) Choose the option "Google Contacts / Calendar" from the section "Provider-specific login".
  2. Type the account address on the Google Account field, then press "Sign in with Google".
  3. (Google OAuth) In the last step of the authorization process (allow DAVx5 access to your account), the page will hang for a while (with a loading animation); then finally it will redirect to google.com.

From step 4, if you close the web view (pressing the X button at the bottom) to return to the DAVx5 app, it will briefly show a toast message saying something went wrong about a token (OAuth token?).

Now, if you skip Etar (step 1) and add the account directly from the DAVx5 app, the authorization (step 4) will succeed.

System info

  • Etar 1.0.52 (default LineageOS app).
  • DAVx5 4.5.8-ose (from F-Droid)
  • LineageOS 23.0 (Android 16)
