Problem with module 154 of iOS Course

Hello Dr. Yu,

I'm working through your iOS course. As a fulltime backend developer, I believe your course is very well made and I appreciate the time and effort you put into your course. For the most part, I was able to breeze through most of the beginning modules, but I have run into an issue that seems to plague multiple students which is your explanation of the dark-mode background set up (Module 154). Your input on stackoverflow would be much appreciated and maybe if you have time, you can update the module. My specific scenario is using the latest macOS on the latest XCode with the latest cocoapods version 1.9.1 (although in the lessons, we have not gotten to cocoapods yet).
