DISCUSSION: Apache DataFusion Portland, OR Meetup

Hi all,
There will be a tokio conference in Portland, OR at April 20 - 22, 2026. From DataFusion, Arrow space, @alamb and @westonpace will also give a talk (speakers). I think, if there is enough interest from the community, we can squeeze a Apache DataFusion meetup during the conference (depends on the availability and plan of the participants from the community of course.).

If we decide do a meetup, I can also give a talk during the meetup. I am opening this discussion to see the interest of the community.

Great call @akurmustafa -- I am also working with @westonpace and some others to organize a meetup in Seattle on Thursday (after the conference -- it seems like a short train /plane ride away). I hope to post some more information about this shortly.

We should definitely plan a meetup before/after the tokio conference too

However, I likely won't have the bandwidth to organize a full on meetup with speakers, etc (though I would love to attend such an event!)

I'm happy to attend as well. I live in Olympia so I'll be driving in if any help is needed moving things or people around.

So having it after the conference ends on Wed could allow for attendees to swing by before heading out the next day
