Curious if any thought has been put into checking to see if UFW or firewalld is installed and active, and at a minimum, notifying the user that they will have to do some extra configuration. For example, with UFW, I found a few missing steps outlined in this Digitalocean tutorial, such as enabling routing in /etc/default/ufw, and actually allowing OpenVPN through the firewall in the first place.
