Description
Description:
When users click the "Back to Instructions" button, all timeline activities that have been entered are lost. This results in a poor user experience and forces users to re-enter all their data if they want to review the instructions.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Complete the instructions page and start the diary
- Fill in activities for one or more timelines
- Click the "Back to Instructions" button
- Return to the diary view
Expected Behavior:
Timeline activities should be preserved when navigating back to instructions and then returning to the diary.
Actual Behavior:
All timeline activities are cleared and lost when clicking "Back to Instructions".
Related Issue:
This is a specific instance of the broader caching issue described in #14. The same caching mechanism that would prevent data loss on browser refresh should also preserve data when navigating between different sections of the application.
Impact:
- Users lose all their work when they want to review instructions
- Creates frustration and reduces usability
- May cause users to avoid using the "Back to Instructions" feature
Proposed Solution:
Implement the caching mechanism described in #14 to persist timeline activities across navigation, not just browser refreshes.
